Assassin Bug Nymph (Again)

Another assassin bug nymph. This one enjoying a beetle break. (Blogger is being totally uncooperative tonight. It refuses to lay out the simple post correctly. I give up.)

I saw something like this (not sure what it is) on the butterfly bush and got two pictures of it but at the time didn't know it was there. It appeared to be snacking.

It is similar in color but the body is more purplish. What are you using for a macro?

Marvin this assasin bug looks to have striped socks on. This is such a clear picture. Of course all of yours are great.

I knew it! I knew it! His detour into 'pretty,' is at an end, already. And he's back with a really Eeeouuuu-kind of entry today. Eouuuuu...

Talk about being "caught in the act"! You certainly caught that nymph "in the act."

But... I know... He is kind of pretty, in a neat yellow and black and white way. If I hold my hand over his "snack," he looks almost ... pretty. :-))))

Quite a cool little nymph, and what a great picture of it. In my few short weeks looking at your blog, I've seen so many things I never noticed before.

Thanks to everyone for their comments.

Abraham: The camera I'm using is an Olympus C8080WZ. It has macro settings that make internal adjustments allowing the normal lens to be used for macros. The end result is sort of like those macro adapter rings that you can buy to screw onto your regular lens. You can take macros, but you always must get very close to your subject. Sorry, but with my limited technical expertise, that's the best I can do to explain it. I use the camera just like it came out of the box.

It reminds me of the character 'Beetlejuice'. I didn't ever see the movie but I remember the stripes. MB

Boy, look at those legs! WOW!! He looks like he has stripped stockings on. Just incredible. I wonder what the top side looks like, on his back. I'll have to look this one up on the internet.
